Literally by being a government, and knowing that today, tomrow, a year, or 10 years from now it will still have its power and importance, at any moment bitcoin could drop to zero.. Now yes the dollar could too, but that would mean America had failed. Much harder for America to fail, than some random currency on the internet.

They are actually terrified of BTC for the very reason that they initially had ZERO control over it. They have since gotten the major coin exchanges to include audit trails so you can be taxed on it the same as stocks. Trust me, the government will be deepthroating bitcoin as soon as they can dig t heir claws in a little deeper to use it for personal gain.
