![]() We have already been over this earlier in the thread.
Being a free server doesnt distract from the multi faceted damage of a live server. Dupe/mudflation seeing rampant goldbuying leaves as just a sour taste in players mouth and detracts new recruits. There is also the potential of legal repercussions through an unlicensed 3rd party service setting up shop. In a world of ever changing and mind blowing legislation, the last thing you want is to find a letter seeing some guy that got ripped off in a deal is taking you to court. Bottom line being Rog/Crew say no and its their server and their vision as long as it doesnt hurt ip legal action. Edit: +1 to kassel

![]() nah Gustahn, i think you misunderstood me, though I wasn't clear overall.
RMTing on P99 is like stealing from a Mom & Pop store - it makes you a literal shithead irl for doing it. RMTing on Sony, Blizzard, Verant, etc's bill? That's what I'm saying. I'd never think twice about stealing from Walmart.

F2P is legal as its the company itself that makes the transactions, which is more an ethical question based on the model itself. As their model is based around rented items and not producing curreny from thin air. What if everybody thought that way about walmart? What if everyone stole from walmart with the thought oh they make millions its ok. Then walmart would cease to make money, the company would go under and welfare of those who worked for it would be in limbo.

![]() A EULA isn't a law. Violating any EULA or TOS isn't illegal, it's a breech of contract, which is a civil tort, and if those weren't such wide gray areas people would have no need for attorneys.
We make efforts to stay legit and on good terms with SOE. P99 isn't in danger anyway, their corporate counsel didn't exactly come from the top of her class.
