Unable to reach character select screen

I've gone through the proper install, and even played on Blue 2-3 times a month ago. I took a small break and tried to login today. I can login, select server, but get a black box without music. The game does not progress to the character select screen. I have uninstalled and re-installed without success. I've also checked the forums without a remedy. Any assistance is appreciated.

Could be either connectivity related, or the client dislikes something about your resolution settings. Try connecting via a hotspot or VPN, and if that doesn't change anything rename your eqclient.ini file to something like eqclient.bak so it will generate a new one.
