Yes, bad things also happen to humanity without religion. Nobody is disputing that but to blame a lack of religion when things just as bad happen in religion's name is to ignore the obvious truth, that humanity often does bad things regardless. To dispose of religion is simply a first step towards removing the divisions that keep us fighting over stupid shit.
