Normal democrats are better-known as "independents" now. The party doesn't want their kind anymore.

EDIT: The problem--the danger, rather--of being liberal-minded is that you have to have the presence of mind to recognize when the battle is won and the goals are achieved. Otherwise you get mission creep and a very real slippery slope such as has happened to any number of reformist movements. Few people are willing to admit "job's done" and in so doing put themselves out of work.

The alternative leads to situations like the daughter's third grade science lesson I noticed the other day where it described dams as horrible things that kill fish and ruin the environment. It said nothing whatsoever about water storage, flood control, or electricity generation. Taking a lemons-into-lemonade mindset, I'm using the opportunity to teach the daughter about propaganda and to read things critically. That being said such garbage "education" should never exist in the first place.

Tbqvfsdch (to be quite very super duper callafragalistically honest) there's a lot of very cool and normal people who want to get on with their lives but really we have two sides screeching at us with orwellien propoganda, and neither will admit it. So good luck with that lol.

(i'm not one of them, but I can recognize the writing on the wall)

Don't kill or demean people just because some guy got or didn't got elected or the US spent 10 trillion dollars on food stamps, concrete slabz, or "smart" bombs. It's not helping.

I have.

And as I've pointed out previously in this thread, you don't dissect policy on someone who is mentally, physically, morally, ethically, and intellectually unfit.

What do I think about Trump's response to the Hurricane in Puerto Rico? I think him not knowing Puerto Rico was part of the US is where the conversation stops.

What do I think about his re-negotiated NAFTA and "tough" trade policies? He thought tariffs on imported goods were paid by the exporting countries or companies.

What do I think about his Supreme Court picks? I think if not given a list by the Heritage foundation we'd have Judge Jeanine, Judge Dredd, and actor Judge Reinhold on the Supreme court.
Translation: I read tweets from b-list celebs that echo the same crap I believe.

Here, go to the source:

https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/

and

https://www.congress.gov/roll-call-votes

are where you can read what's going on. I'll make it extra easy on you. Here's one House Resolution bill that's in the house..... https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-...tion/1154/text and Trumps latest executive order..... https://www.whitehouse.gov/president...ary-companies/ and his latest proclamation..... https://www.whitehouse.gov/president...ion-week-2020/

OMG, what a fucking asshole. He has the audacity to write something like:

Quote:
As we celebrate the 99th anniversary of American Education Week, I encourage States, districts, and school boards across the country to embrace creative, personalized approaches to learning, and to ensure that students are at the center of all of their educational endeavors.

.....

My Administration fought for billions of dollars in funding for local school districts for personal protective equipment, increased cleaning services, and other critical resources and is providing States with millions of revolutionary point-of-care tests that deliver highly accurate results in minutes. Whether in the classroom or at home, I am committed to fighting for whatever is needed to ensure quality education for every American student.
How dare he allow people the ability to choose how they want their districts to run. By dam he should demand the entire nation to adopt the rules and policies of some random district.

I read Lord of the Rings when I was a kid.

Does this help? Shit was long.

My mom said read it.
Ok, good for you (and nearly every other person over the age of 12 in our country).

Quote:
The summation of the Trump years is thus: a travel ban(x2?), a corporate tax cut, and failing to repeal the ACA. That's pretty much it, except for Tromp vetoing the TPP to help out Xi.

What a waste of 4 years.
Translation: I'm as educated as Hobart.

I know my post seems like I'm a self righteous asshole; so be it. My desire though is for people to get to a decent source of information rather than rely on dipshit that simply wants you to follow them (ie, their inflammatory tweets that gain them followers and $$$). Stop being sheep.

was very much sarcasm.

Example: My kids school district is 100% remote. One city to the north is 100% in class. Another city to the north is a hybrid remote and in class. A city to the east is allowing parents to choose in class or remote. Our governor has issued a statement that if our state doesn't get numbers under control he'll issue a stay at home order that would force all schools to go remote. I'm personally happy Trump hasn't dictated what we do.

Proclamations and executive orders aren't legal changes. Citing them as accomplishments only demonstrates how ineffective the big orange goober was at governing.

This is actually a great point about mission creep. The Democrats are in danger of doing to themselves what the republicans did to their party with the tea party
