It's not about being vindictive or evil. It's about the dozens upon dozens of family and friends I had to call this year to let them know they're never going to see their loved one again. The death, suffering, fear and heartache that you couldn't even imagine or be able to handle. A lot who were taking lead from your president himself. Someone who is now suffering from something he joked about and didn't take seriously since March. His actions affected a lot of people. And now he's going to understand why this isn't a joke.

Except he has socialized health care and will receive every available treatment at the disposal of the US Government. Most of the US isn't afforded the same standard of care. Or any care at all in a lot of cases.

He may or may not. I've said from the beginning that if Trump gets a mild case and beats it that will only make him more emboldened and inflate his ego. Someone really close, and I mean really close, to him would have to die for it to possibly change his current stance I think, or maybe if he was intubated for a month.

"Trump is receiving a two-antibody combo drug that’s currently in late-stage studies from Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc." He's already using extraordinary measures that most people don't have access to. What a surprise he's not promoting hydroxychloroquine right now.

Sure, but are you surprised that a POTUS would get that kind of treatment and so early on in the infection? They are trying to get as ahead of it as possible. And why wouldn't they move him by helicopter? That's not an uncommon thing. I guess I'm just surprised that people are surprised that they are treating it aggressively. Thinking the President doesn't have access to things average Americans don't have access to like that is naive, no? But, yes, I totally understand your HCQ comment and as someone that never thought it was an effective treatment after the initial studies I'm not surprised.

There's a good chance that if he's indeed positive they already started treating him with convalescent plasma and remdesivir.
That was from 0926 this morning. I'm not surprised at all. I predicted it. I figured he was going to start treatment immediately. He took it to another level and is using therapy still in trials. Because I know how serious this infection can be. It's all fun and games until you actually get the Rona, especially as an elderly person with comorbidities.

With the added context of your earlier post I understand the post I replied to better, and I see you are not included in those surprised by the efforts. I have a 31 year old long-hauler and a 75 year highly asthmatic individual in my life that was intubated for a month and received the first successful convalescent plasma treatment in my state so I'm well aware of what this all can look like.

I don't think the argument was ever "this isn't serious". It was "this isn't serious for the vast majority of the population, and even for older populations". I'm sorry you have been affected so directly by it. Your experience is insanely uncommon from a raw statistical standpoint.

I and pretty much the entire healthcare community have been trying to stress the severity of this illness for the at risk population. To take proper precautions. Because it’s not just about you or your freedoms. It’s about the potential risk you pose to those at high risk. These people are your loved ones or someone else’s loved ones. You can deny it all you want but the president has been the head of this movement downplaying this virus, not wearing a mask, mocking others for wearing a mask. These are all facts. They happened. And for someone with my experience it’s extremely frustrating.

I have posts from months ago about this situation. About people not taking it seriously until they’re directly affected. And now you want to play the sympathy card when the person heading the movement to downplay this virus is now hospitalized because of it. I’m sorry bud but that’s simply not going to work. You can call me a beast, heartless, unsympathetic, I don’t care. We’ve been trying to convey this for a long time now and this is the only thing that actually works. Seeing the destruction first hand that I’ve seen every week since March.
