Me too. You know what the life expectancy of front desk clerk in Newark was? Haha trick question no one gave a shit to find out. I had a guy come in with his girlfriend and she was fine so I was relaxed, but then he reaches into his sleeve so I'm on my guard right away, and there it is - he starts pulling out a nice black gun which I recognize as DC9M because I like guns. I look at his girlfriend, Ms Clyde I guess and I look right at her eyes like is this what's going on? I remember that. But his gun is almost out so I plant my right foot and turn left and just fly right into the back office and slam into the air conditioner right on the other side but it's ok cause I know it's there and I grab the edge and use it to hang a quick right. And pop pop pop I hear he's shooting I can't believe it they never shoot, they lean over grab what's in the register and go. But there he is, putting holes in walls. I'm way gone though, I'm out the back door into the parking lot, run down to the back entrance, down to the maintenance room where there's a phone to call the owner who will get the cops down here because they won't come quick if it's just me.

I once shared a bottle of vodka with a bloated corpse, or I guess I finished off his bottle same thing. I mean I held it up to the light first to check for backwash, it was good, I didn't care any more. I'm exaggerating on the bloated corpse, he was just really overcome with a bad case of levidity, but whenever he comes up in my memories he's always more and more bloated.

Yeah did you join the service to get college money? That's why I did my tour in Newark. I didn't know it was going to give me nice case of PTSD for the rest of my life and I guess it doesn't really come up unless I'm browsing the forums and I come across some guy who started talking about boxing but then made sure everyone knew he lay in the dirt for days while those lazy flying fuckboys did all the work. Ba-boom!

Trigger me timbers. How many autistic spam posts can manifest about making some shitbag do a gut check.

He seems to really focus on POAG vs POG vs POGUE vs however he wants to spell it. Let me enlighten these fine folks here who were never in the Army.

POAG is just what we called people who weren't infantry. I don't know what sissy scouts do but I don't ever recall using it as an actual acronym to memorize. Perhaps scouts like to send each other love notes between tummy time, and let them know how much they miss each other. POAG is phonetic. Emphasizing the A. Instead of POG, to sound like DOG. POGUE probably does it better to sound like ROGUE. Either way, it's completely fucking irrelevant how any of that shit is spelled. The key take away is that Tummy Time Timmy is going on an illiterate rampage over it.

"BACK IN MY DAY WE KNEW WHAT ACRONYMS WERE!!!"

"NO REAL SOLDIER WOULD EVER GET AN ACRONYM WRONG!!!"

A lot of chest thrusting over the brittle bones of the argument and evading all of the meat. A sticker of a patch is cute. Doesn't mean the fella was in group.

Recon, scouts, LRSD, all act tough. Some are tough, especially in Vietnam they were some bad ass mother fuckers. Now... ehh. A whole lot of hiding and reporting and not a lot of fighting. If they engage the enemy they've failed miserably at their job.

"7 years of my adult life in direct combat", turns to "I was there abouts for 7 years."

Cool.

See, as was I for 3 combat deployments. Since I'm not a raging lunatic taking too many drugs I can describe deployments as I always have before, "15 days of combat and 350 days of Halo, DVD marathons, and boring as fuck patrols, ambushes, raids, cordons yada yada yada." Now add to that that Tummy Time Timmy was in scouts, so in direct combat really means sitting in some fucking building, or out in a hidesight, watching, doing radio checks, and cuddling with his other pals while writing out the word POG. Because in scouts we don't forget no acronyms. Hooah?!

LOL

HAHAHAHA

I know scouts. I know a lot of them. They are the schmucks who spray paint their rifles to look like fucking Rambo, and then go to the PX to by sweet treats and wear boonie hats to be big boy elite soldiers. They aren't chosen from the best of the best of the best. Some get sent there to get out of the line. Some ask to go. Most just think they're cool by being snipers. I'm sure they can shoot well, and they can score a 300+ on the PT, but being choosing to hide is... well... bitchmade. No, no, that's not all scouts do. But they sure as fuck aren't some elite unit.

I'm sure Joe was that fatbody soldier who trundled and mumbled, and found all the fun in digging those fox holes, but when it came to them shots getting fired he froze like all the big bad men did when war came to them, and reenlisted as cadre.

Recon isn't cool. The Army wasn't cool. The fact that you got out and became every much the loser you are with all of the same excuses is telling. Meanwhile, here I am with a G.E.D. and an M.D. Sorry you're poor, and sucked at the Army as much as life.

TLDR the official terminology is POG.

"NO REAL SOLDIER WOULD EVER GET AN ACRONYM WRONG!!!"

LMAO TLDR What does the A stand for, Mister Stolen Valor? I'm still waiting for you (or even Google - since no results) to explain that one. Fucking phony ass bitch.

PS. Let's see some of your war trophies. He's one of mine. Let me guess, I bought this hand-painted Iraqi flag off of amazon.

Even POAGs have war trophies.

Holy shit. You really don't know the difference between writing something as an acronym and writing it phonetically. You see, no one actually ever wrote POG/POAG/POGUE down. It was just something said. Or... did you actually have a little "I promise I ain't no POG" journal?

No one who served would ever slander American soldiers they way you have in this thread. As I said earlier, being Special Forces does not make you cool. I have the utmost respect for any young person has the balls to serve. Most of the people who die are not Navy Seals or SF.

The real heroes in our Military are the young PFCs serving in regular units. They by far have the toughest job and I realize this. To completely disrespect them as if they don't matter because they aren't "hardcore enough" is only something a POG or a civilian who never served would do. And I guarantee you wouldn't say any of that shit in front of a veteran in real life.

I knew at least 6 young kids who lost their lives while serving in non-combat MOSs, and you just spit on their fucking graves. You are not a fucking veteran.

Hand-painted and hand-embroidered. I guess I just keep all this shit on hand for arguing with trolls on the internet. Even though this is the first time this has ever happened to me because people generally don't question your entire existence like joining the Military is this insane legendary task that very few people can accomplish, and that recruiters don't specifically target people with no options for a reason.

And yet I am, and yet I did. And calling you out has zero to fuck to do with random privates.

Ironically those pogs became the currency during deployment. AAFES issued cardboard coins instead of the real thing and then refused to accept them as payment back in the states.
