It must be so embarrassing for you to subscribe to an ideology that champions personal responsibility, self-efficacy, and competition, yet fail so profoundly to embody those values that you're screaming and begging for people to expose themselves to a Chinese plague with a non-negligible chance of killing even a young, healthy host, because you are too incompetent and financially ill-established to adapt to the status quo and weather this pandemic.

Again, the country is opening back up, but consumer spending is going to be sluggish because nobody wants to expose themselves to an insanely transmissible virus that has a roughly 1/100 chance of killing you. By what statistical model to you conjure such numbers? If the testing is even representative by a magnitude of 10%, the mortality rate is 0.6%.

If the number tested positive / numbers tested is representative of the population directly, this shit has a mortality rate of 0.06%. You are a fucking retard.

I had the kung-flu and never even knew it. I know several people I work with who had the same thing happen. And I'm not really sure what your issue here is. He is just correctly pointing out that the actual mortality rate is far lower than the doom and gloomers said it would be.

Even if the mortality rate is similar to flu, it's not, but for the sake of illustration, it is still extremely infectious and has a high mortality rate in the geriatric population. It's time to re-open the country but explain to me why we shouldn't be wearing masks and taking simple distance precautions, like not crowding thousands of people into a tiny area-- not to protect you, with your very low risk of death, but to protect vulnerable people until either:

1. Herd immunity develops

or

2. We manage to develop a vaccine

This was the approach Sweden took, remaining open and allowing herd immunity to develop in the young and strong while the vulnerable isolated themselves with a strong safety net to prevent their jobs from evaporating, and simple precautions such as masks and mild social distancing to keep the curve flat.

Masks aren't absolute protection but they have been shown to dramatically reduce the transmissibility, moreso when the infected person is wearing a mask. I wish you'd just admit you're willing to kill all the old people to prove a point, that you and orangemanbad are special snowflakes and nobody gets to tell you to wear a mask and wash your hands.

Anyways, as I was saying, if we didn't have as many fragile self-centered people who can't fathom that the world doesn't revolve around them, we'd be fine. Maybe, one day, America can actually be great again if we had an educated population with proper support and an economy that isn't so brittle that literally a month of shutdown doesn't completely collapse the system.

Instead, we have the most cases and the most deaths in the world.
