The only gear a bard needs is its instruments, if you cant play a bard naked then you miswell play another class cause you suck at playing a bard, bards are one of the least gear dependent classes in the game other then their instruments.

As a 57 bard in full lambent for lullz on r99 running around against velious geared dirty whistles, I am more than aware.
