I cant see the ground.

Thank god I am not only one having this issue - what i was going to try next (after the suggestion from Quylein above) is to try adding the patch files one at a time (not that slow probably a binary test)

I found that prior to patching I can get into the character screen with all the textures - I just got the spells error

So it seems like the problem is caused by something in the patch

for me at least
