All the money camps are already camped damn near 24/7 on Teal. Would be even worse if they merged. Exp spots are pretty open(except for HHK nobles/bards, which is permacamped pretty much), but you need to form your own groups typically rather than just throwing up LFG.

Then there's raiding. Contested FGs 3 times a day? Contested Phinny twice a day? Like 6 guilds contesting every dragon? I'll pass.

I hope they don't merge until Kunark at the earliest.

That's the very reason they should merge the servers now

The lack of competition has allowed to 2 guilds to monopolize all the end game content when they should be competing with each other for it

I don't know how much competition there is for Seal Team on Green, but Black Lotus and Lineage have contested Kingdom on last two Vox, last Phinny, and numerous times for Fire Giants.

So that's already 3 guilds that would be contesting targets. Then add in Steal Team plus who ever is contesting them on Green into the mix and it'd be a cluster fuck with so few targets to go after.

Competition over content is what has always made Everquest a unique game that is different than any other mainstream MMO

It's the competition that creates a game within the game. Players essentially create their own content through social interaction fueled by competition. Rivalries will emerge. Alliances. Reputations will be forged

The planes are literally right around the corner which will open up more content. Maybe if the economies merge we can finally see some stability there as well

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the big guilds on either server ends up losing a decent number of people post-merge because some of their members are playing on both servers simultaneously to duplicate their chances at raid loot, and will then just pick one guild when the servers merge.

Dragons are already competed on teal and there is a nice overall environment. Let's not spread green toxicness to teal by merging.

I don't see a merge being toxic at all

I wouldn't really say the competition on Teal is really competition. The 2 strongest guilds aren't competing with each other. It's a water downed version of what it could really be which would make the server much more vibrant if there was a merge

Each server is basically it's own league with the "champs" competing with second string teams. We don't really know how good Kingdom and Seal Team are if they aren't in direct competition with each other

It's like having the AFL and NFL as separate leagues with no Super Bowl

If there was a merge and these guilds got a chance to compete with each other, it would be interesting to see how the Alliance game played out in an effort to get ahead of each other

People want to be lazy with their pixels

Classic Blue was way better than Green/Teal

Classic Blue is a great example of a toxic raid environment over most of the years blue was in existence. It's already been played out on Blue. Time for a different way forward that I'm interested in seeing. The competitive live classic raiding experience I had wasn't the toxic blue raid scene of lawyerquest raiding, fraps, etc.

Meh I disagree

The Raid scene differed back during Classic Era from server to server

Classic Blue was highly competitive and fun. I remember engaging Draco with a group and sustaining while stragglers logged on and winning while an opposing Raid Force sat there and watched

What we see now on the new servers is what AM did on the later years of Blue. Tag all potential competition and implement a raid credit system to keep people happy with crumbs. Massive zergs that just assimilate any potential threats to their supremacy

That's basically the template for both guilds on the new servers while never having to compete with each other

It's boring

One server with both of these guilds going head to head would be much more exciting, especially when the planes open

Alternative perspective to consider: It's very rare on this project to have two equally viable guilds competing for raid mobs at one time. Even when there's competition, it's usually a scrappy upstart with a strong core, not a fully-capable second mega-guild that's just as geared and experienced as the top team. However, because of the Green/Teal split we are finally going to see that happen when the merge occurs. Two guilds, both geared out relatively uncontested in Classic, entrenched with loyal members who aren't going to so easily abandon ship, ready to duke it out in Kunark. We're setting up a far more interesting future now by letting Kingdom and Seal Team flourish early.
