We must not claim that it is greedy for porters to expect tips for ports because it is equally greedy for people to expect free ports. I'm not sure why people can't see that this is a reciprocal exchange.

"It just costs you mana." / "It just costs you time to run, wait for a boat, and run some more." Every player's time must be valued equally. And if another player saves/gains you time, you should compensate them.

OP is providing valuable information, albeit with a seemingly angry delivery. These types of services weren't available on my server back in the day and could be foreign to folks just getting back into the game.

I like the idea of including how much plat you're going to give the porter in your initial tell but, if you're like me, the amount I tip varies based on the overall experience I had with the porter, i.e gratuity.

1p per level seems very expensive. Currently lvl 21 Ranger and have maybe 200-300 plat. So 10% of my gross for a single port? No TY.

I think most porters are happy with getting what you can comfortably afford. I'd rather get a little something, rather than a smile and a wave.

On cleric, I grinded 49 lvls to get 90% rez just to have people offering 10-50pp on average as a tip.

Meanwhile, druids complaining about not getting 25-50pp for spells they can cast starting at lvl29

Rough life, huh.

I thought 1pp per level was blue prices where plat was falling out of peoples pockets. I've been selling hand made backpacks for 15pp on teal and i know they sold for a heck of a lot more on blue.

Still whenever I /who all dial I rarely see anyone so I offer close to 15pp per port at lvl 24 to whoever is willing to take me but I also just tend to try and run instead of asking for ports.
