looking at your log file seems to indicate that you are being blocked. the login server and game server are on different ports. The game serving is being port blocked by your router or ISP.

Either unblock it or use a VPN. Many have reported using a VPN to solve issues like this.

I had considered this, so I copied my install over to my laptop and it ran without any issues outside of having to use p99-login-middlemand. (Laptop runs Linux (Fedora) and p99-login-middlemand was required to get past having an empty server select screen))

I had seen some comments about how people were having some success by removing their cpu overclock.

This seemed... kinda silly. Like, how could this possibly have an affect? I was running a perfectly stable OC on my system (leaving FSB alone, just an increased CPU multiplier and some voltage adjustment). Perfectly stable in Prime95 / Cinebench / every game I've tried.

Well. Reset my bios and... I am now on the character select/creation screen.

I'll have to play around with restoring parts of my OC and seeing what changes. Maybe the CPU was too fast for Everquest?

I really don't know. A very curious turn of events though! On the plus side, now I get to create a character to play on!
