That's pretty much how I had to do it. It just wouldn't go borderless no matter what I tried. So instead of doing fullscreen, I just edited the eqclient.ini file until I got mine to look as full screen as possible. I had to adjust it from the original thread you mentioned. Sadly, the size provided in that thread still leaves a single line on the right of the screen that can show bright wallpapers. That is of course, if you have one set on your system. Here is mine from the eqclient.ini found in the Everquest folder. Code:
