I had my corpse recovered from the hole by a guide when levitate turned off and I jumped in.

This was on live.

I think corpse banking is too easy and it will probably get nerfed. CSR helping people is pretty classic.

If the fact that a GM helped someone get their corpse "killed" green for you, I for one am glad you won't be joining the server.

Yeah since anyone losing their corpse will petition, I don't see the point in making this change that is simply going to cause more work for our volunteer staff.

I've never lost a corpse in the entirety of my time playing this game, Live or P99. But if something did happen and I wasn't able to retrive it, be it RL circumstances, or a rage quit in my feelings, I'd be more than happy to accept the compassion and generosity of a GM corpse summon. Everyone works hard for their gear, everyone has put time into their characters, and (IMO) it was a dumb feature put into the game to begin with.

GM intervention on corpse retrieval is Classic. Sorry you think that's "cheating". I look forward to not seeing you on Green.

my argument for a lower corpse expiration time would be to remove corpsing lore items, sky/other keys, and also to remove raid shenanigans with rezzing people at spawn points or whatever. Now, im not "classic" or bust person, but i think this would actually be a really healthy implementation in the end, at least for the above mentioned cases, it may lead to more total CSR corpse restores though which we obviously want to avoid. if in the end, this was a real thing of course. I seem to remember it, i dont think i am alone in that.

My buddy (level 15 ish) went on a 2 week vacation around June of 1999 and when he came back his corpse was gone...so it can't be that it's based off online time only. He ended up quitting EQ all together then, lol.

Not sure you read my post correctly, friend. I said currently it is 7 days online or off, and before that, it was 24 hours online or off.. So your buddy's corpse would have been gone no matter what era he was playing. Thanks!

I know for a fact Gm's back in the day would help retrieve your corpse because I lost mine and couldn't drag it. GM got my corpse back after I had tried for days. I was close to giving up and GM was my last resort. THANKS GM!!!

I don't think there is anything wrong with the GMs here helping people retrieve their corpses. It should be a limited thing though and there shouldn't be repeat offenders. But I am not sure why anyone else would feel some sort of way for a GM helping someone out. Sometimes we rage quit man, I've been there.
