I hate it when people ask me for some kind of favor while being anon or role. I have no idea who you are, why should I help you? I usually respond with some sarcastic RP about it until they take anon off.
If you have no idea who I am, why shouldn't you help me? Obviously, you can say no to anyone you want, but how does knowing my race and class affect your decision?

and location.
i assume he ment when someone sends him a tell like: can you please rez/port/buff me?
with no additional info, and they are /anon

which then lead to questions like - where are you, your corpse, your group, etc, while doing /who would answer majority questions.

on other hand, i do believe that its peoples business if they /anon or whatever.
Of course if you are /anon, and asking someone for something, please be wise to include additional info they may need to know to reply to your request properly

The only issue I ever have with these is when I'm running to a solo spot that I know can't be shared. I do a /who all zone, hey, nobody else is in the zone, awesome! I continue to check the entire way there. I get to the zone and somebody is anon. Awesome, what a waste of time for me. If they weren't anon I could have sent them a tell, said hey, how long you gonna be there? All night? Awesome, thanks man.

Its the most frustrating when its a class that doesn't need to be anon to avoid morons.

Unless someone's right in front of you, you'd still need to ask where they are. Not being anon does let you filter out the people who want a rez 15 zones away for 20p quicker though [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.][You must be logged in to view images. I typically only run anon to keep people from riding us when doing guild activities, and even then only selectively.

For 95% of my playtime my character, class, and zone are out on display.

I prefer to not use /role, however once my chanter alt got clarity I've found myself using it more and more. I'd probably use role all the time if I had mained a chanter from the get-go.

Makes me not want to buff /anon or /role people.

Not to derail, but every time I walk into the EC tunnel on my Barbarian rogue I get a DMF, cleric buffs, and clarity.
I'M NOT A SHAMAN~!

Somewhat related to topic, but going /role won't save me from buff requests in EC.

long time ago, my level 15 ranger was minding her own own business in Tox forest by druid ring, when suddenly someone approaches me and asks for a port.
I go into 3rd person view, look at my 2handed sword, banded chain armor, and ask the person if I look anything like a druid?
Their reply was : "But you are wood elf, right?" [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

It can be about more than that though. It's the whole idea that someone is more than willing to search out random people who let their level and class and location be known and request help, while they themselves remain hidden to prevent other people from doing the same. It can be looked at as a double standard of sorts. "I have no problem with asking random people for help, but I make sure no one can do the same of me."
