I’ve had multiple quest rewards given to me via petition so not sure what policy they are talking about

Sigh. Yeah. I have heard of it too. Perhaps there is an exception made when the player committed no error and executed the turn-in correctly (like when someone leaves a partial turn in on an NPC or whatever).
Maybe in those cases he will just go ahead and summon the reward instead of reimbursing the turn-in pieces. If that's not the case then IDK what the difference is. Either way I am awfully grateful for whatever help they will allow. I am totally willing to buy the items on the open market and distribute them to my Kittens and Aegis allies to erase that aspect of the mistake. The thing wrenching at my heart at this time is Ring 10...if they'll help me pull that out of the garbage can (even indirectly though the head) I will be tremendously grateful. | ||

Just heads up you dont need to stay logged in. Receive the head, place it in a bag you dont need for a few days, or unbagged in your inventory then die. The item will stay on your corpse whether you log off or not

I remember this happened to Deneras in Aftermath. He turned in after our successful ringwar. Once the npc ran toward thurg I ensnared and dragged away and eventually capped out once I dragged him far enough away to allow more time to do the trade as he immediately starts running toward Thurg again once unaggro. It is possible to complete the trade and receive the ring though.

thats fantastic information - are you sure that sensechel aldikar runs away though?
Our information was that the Dwarf Captains run and poof but that Aldikar holds in place for a time despite the turn in. Either way that is really great to have first hand confirmation that it is in fact doable. Cheers! | ||

Well thanks for the heads up on that fact you guys. That's not what I was expecting and so would *not* have been ready for it had you not schooled me up.
I wonder if we wait till he gets closer to thurg if we can snare him without causing the captains to chain aggro as we attempt to pull him out. | ||

Trip report.
After tonight's Ring War I was able only to attempt explicitly "hands-off" approaches to the unorthodox turn in - as it wasn't their issue AM understandably wanted no part of any kind of kiting, etc that might jeopardize their own rewards. Thusly, I stood between the circle and Thurg and attempted a hand-in on Seneschal Aldikar as he passed me, briskly. It was extremely dicey, but it worked. I managed to get the turn-in off before he despawned or shut down and I was rewarded with a shorn head and Ring 10 per the standard script. Once AM had turned in the rest of their side-quests, I did attempt to open a trade with a few of the last captains to pass me, but alas they are all hard-coded to accept only one trade before refusing to open a trade window again, as they must be in order to prevent the exploitfest that would result otherwise. So yeah. Pretty great. Super pleased to have Ring 10. Will purchase the other items out of pocket to compensate my allies for their losses. A big thank you to everyone in here who took time to search their memory for insight - you were all quite helpful. ...WTB everything from Ring War. Cheers! Tissamo | ||
