Any policy which expects the player to record his video game sessions at all times is completely insane. In no world is that expectation reasonable or normal.

K buddy. Any game that lets you play for free who has a staff that works for free and that put up with a bunch of adult chilldren, who have to handle probably 100's of petitions if not 1000 a week. seems like having proof would be pretty reasonable thing to ask, other wise you're taking extra time that could be better used then getting upset over crushbone and doing the exact same thing to the people that they did to you to cause you to get upset in the first place. OBS is super simple to install and honestly, I recommend that a player that plays on private server EMUs of any sort do so. It's like this. Private server EMUs of all sorts have sharply limited resouces when it comes to GM staff and the workload they have to go through. Been there, done that on a WoW private server.

When you're playing on these projects, you really do need to go the extra mile in being ready to record not in the spirit of being a snitch or playing virtual elf sim police, but doing so as a service to the staff. How much time is going to be saved for the staff member looking at your petition if you include a hosted video link to go with your side of the story?

Retail companies have the resources to do a lot more on their end, it's true. Private EMU's, not so much.
Aye, and you can have it set to a hot key to start at the press of a button so you dont have to be constantly recording. see something funny. like a group coming into your space unanounced. hit record. they leave no incident ? stop the recording, delet video at a later convienince.

I think perhaps, Jacobar, the greater point in Danth's post is that the act of dash-camming your 20yo elfplay sessions out of necessity is bizarre in itself and that it speaks very poorly of the environmental conditions necessitating it. In a free-elf society, no elf should have to worry about another extorting green Dragon scales from him, or live in fear mean words. The need to chronicle his time ramp staring in Mistmoore while LFG, or selling High Quality Hides in East Commknkoands is what is unreasonable.

In real life you encounter a magnitude of varying individuals. Some of those individuals turn out to be baddies, some of those baddies play eq. As such, like in real life, because remember after all that we are real people that are playing this, some of us at least, making accusations is often best when you can back it up. Otherwise those acusations are called "baseless" . The creator of this thread doesnt "have to" obs his encounters, he doesnt "have to" post in RNF, and last but not least he didnt "have to" train the people who "trained" him. Buuuuuuut he did do two of those three things, and so, here we are. The original poster admited in plain text that he trained the other group. maybe they recorded him doing it. He could have called the GMs, he decided to take matters into his own hands, sometimes that can have its consequences. What proof does he or anyone here have that the other group actually did anything wrong, or even existed for that matter? The point I was trying to make is, regardless of if we are playing a twenty year old elf sim, or driving down the road, sometimes it pays to have a dash cam when youre the one in the driver seat and stuff gets wrecked. all in all this could be an elaborite hoax. Too, Its all part of the immersion, check out your loading screen sometime if you still play and not just post here "thousands of trains served" people have been training since 1999 and here we are in 2019 acting shocked the same people that played then are doing the same stuff now ha ha

I don't know man. I don't wear a body cam IRL. Wearing one in EQ would basically be admitting that I take EQ more seriously than IRLand.

This. I use OBS to record my classes, so I even have the software all ready to go ... and I still never use it when playing EQ.

If I have to chose between letting someone KS me every once in awhile because I couldn't prove that it as a KS (without fraps) ... vs. having to keep OBS running and ready to go every time I play EQ ... I'll just lose the stupid mob every once in awhile. LIfe goes on.

You lost in elf court. I suggest you make another post and use more staff names. You are about to ascend.

Training back in 99 was pure and unadulterated.

Today, it is different... like a watered down, flat can of Surge perhaps.
