I would rephrase that as the lance is still being auctioned as high as 50k by tunnel rats trying to manipulate the market.

Adjusting the price of an item that has increased in value isn't "manipulating the market." When an item nerf/buff happens ad prices change and vary dramatically at first, because no ones sure how much it ought to be adjusted. Eventually Lance will settle to a stable and reasonable price.
