Like that thread mentions a lot of people have problems if P99 is installed in C:\Program Files. If anyone having problems has p99 installed there just copy and paste it somewhere else like C:\Project1999.

If you re-run the Duxa all in one installer after the patch file it will replace the new patch file with a very oudated patch file, and you'll get the character select screen without your characters. Since Duxa doesn't play here anymore the installer doesn't get updated with the current patches. If you were able to log in that's not your problem OP but for anyone else.

Only other suggestions I could make are:

Right Click your shortcut to open EQ, click Properties, click the compatability tab, Run in compatability mode for windows xp (service pack 2)

and of course

Reinstall and unzip the new patch file directly into the p99 folder before trying to log on.
