I am by no means a trump koolaid drinker but I really don't understand the liberals with this one...

Defense budget got increased to 716 BILLION dollars approved by congress and not a single bleeding heart liberal said a word.

But now they are flailing about bitching and screaming about 5.7 billion for a wall, they claim the wall wont change anything and its a waste of money, you never hear them crying this loud about the billions we waste elsewhere, usually from liberal policies.

It's almost like there's a blatant ulterior motive here that has nothing to do with trying to save 5.7 billion dollars. I think they are afraid it will work and prove Trump right and that scares the shit out of liberals more than anything.

They are willing to risk american citizens safety and let illegal border hopping run rampant if it means they don't have to admit Trump or conservatives are right. I'm so sick of the liberals today not having any knowledge of a situation other than just gobbling up everything spoon fed to them by CNN its fucking disgusting.

so you are saying thats the only form of illegal immigration that occurs? Nobody is crossing the rivers and hopping fences? Do you honestly believe that? The wall isn't going to stop 100% of it overnight but if you secure the physical border you can focus resources elsewhere to fight the other kinds of illegal immigration such as the one you mentioned.

Seems that there is a lot of misconception of what "Build the wall" really means and to who.

I think for most of us that have any kind of advanced degree (or clarity of thought) know that $5.7 billion is not going to be enough to build a wall from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific Ocean. That's roughly 1900 miles. Currently there is about 700 miles of border fencing along the southern border spanning 4 states. Trump wants to build another 1000 miles of border "wall" with the remainder being natural obstacles and barriers (mountains, rivers, desert etc).

The $5.7b is to improve existing border security, hire more agents, more detention facilities, more technology and yes even a "little bit" more wall. What the $5.7b wont build is a barrier from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific Ocean. That will likely cost $30-50 billion and would take YEARS to complete.

Bear in mind that there was a bill approved by congress in December that the President rejected because it was money earmarked for those specifics and not a wall.

Are you all daft enough to think that a border wall is just about the number of illegal immigrants in our country?

A porous border is a very attractive and cost-efficient route to smuggle drugs, guns, and terrorists. Yes, I am aware there are no incidents of terrorists having come through the border, but it doesn't mean that it isn't a real concern.
