This thread is funny because loramin is clearly smarter than SC, and yet gets everything wrong anyway. Some things are so stupid they can only believed by someone who went to college (and watches huge quantities of CNN).

Also I have to call out Ahlgador for low posting quality. You need to have more words in your repertoire than 'weak'. My personal favorite word is 'defenestration'. It's hard to work into a message board flame but I have faith in you.

That's the issue.

Russia was our counterbalance after the war.

If we took out Russia, we probably would have went full on fash mode.

Uh, no. The Soviets pretty much handled the Third Reich by themselves. The incompetent Allies couldn't even make it across the Rhine before the Soviets took care of Berlin. They had thousands more tanks of higher quality than ours, millions more soldiers, and a hell of a lot more will to fight.

During the early days of the A-bomb we could manufacture maybe 1 bomb a month? Not enough to bring the highly decentralized Soviet Union to its knees. Their industry and leadership were spread out over thousands of miles, and it only took a few years for the Soviets to develop the bomb themselves.

US would have gotten its shit kicked in.
