Guns, probably, because 2nd amendment arguments always seem to miss the reality that the 2nd is pretty much gone, anyway, insofar as its original strength from 1791 is concerned. I find it boring because the common existing arguments are always backed down into a tiny, almost inconsequential little subspace of the original intent.

But of course it's easy to force fatherhood upon men. Well, at least it's as easy to do that as it is to force motherhood upon women. I mean...you cannot actually force a woman to carry the child to term. Under-the-table and illegal abortions are a thing, and existed even in societies as conservative as victorian Britain. All you can do is toss the gal in jail if she gets caught. Well...same for dudes, they can either man up or get tossed in the clink. Life has consequences.....fair's fair. Sorry dudes, but I got no sympathy at all for scumbag guys who want to play around then leave the entirety of the consequence for that joint activity solely on the girl.

---------------------

As an aside, Mick...you probably notice (and probably take a little confusion in the fact) that I argue on both sides of the abortion question. That's because I can live with it either way it goes, but within the confines of either side of it I prefer to see things done in as fair a manner as possible. I appreciate that you actually offer real discussion....this is an emotional subject and a lot of people can't discuss it flatly.

Im fine either way, but I got to an age where I thought... you know what, maybe there is a simple answer to abortion?

That age was, Im not fucking people at the club anymore. which is selfish I know... but what can you do, people is selfish

But that doesn't change the fact that I DO see it more clearly now... Like, I can see both sides of the arguments first hand.

And having done so, I feel like its a pretty straight forward answer.

You either are cool with things like eugenics (just not to that extent right now because socially we all agree THAT is bad) to an extent that socially we expect taking the existence of someone away, because it's convenient for someone.

Like, lets take religion out of it, lets look at it purely from an objective, life or death position.

Once the egg is fertilized, there is a 100% chance that on its own it would become a human being. (sure like there are factors that could kill it along the way, but let's put everything from mutation to car accident of the mother, in the 'accidental death' category, that nobody is responsible for)

So basically, fertilized egg = the adult person. tThe adult person cannot exist without the fertilized egg, and by destroying the fertilized egg then you are destroying that adult person's existence.

their you're taking their very _existence_ which, is basically the same as murder.

So I think even without religion, its morally bankrupt to have an abortion at any point after conception...

BUT IDK what if?...

Like what if you have sex, and are like 'OOPS the condom broke! Take plan B!' is THAT abortion!? like, is that murder? It's technically taking that person's life away that began just before the "oops!"..

idk

i just don't know.

What about this... If we could remember being fetus, it'd be pretty much unanimous, killing the fetus would be murder... but... the only different thing between a fetus that can remember, and a real fetus, is that it can remember. Other than that it's still exactly the same thing, a living ameba that will grow into a living human [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] god I just don't know!

o well, guess we'll let Brett Kavanaugh decide [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Yeh.. Id have to go with guns, though I think SC dropped that excellent shade.

guns is sooooo boring because 1. you aint going to get them and 2. the arguments haven't changed since the 80s, these people still refuse to not use the word assault rifle to describe a pistol.

I mean people will literally say "I don't know anything about guns but I have a HUGE amount of opinions about them"

So its basically, you're forced to talk about something that wont change, with someone who doesn't understand it at all.

So its incredibly boring.

You don't know, and that's alright. It's the folks who know who cause most the trouble.

We can be sure of one thing. Science will not decide that issue.
