EDIT: I had a bard twink on live and for some reason I am remembering the original manasong being pulse based, and thus I much preferred the version they added later that gave the HP/Mana regen buff.

![]() Taken from EQClassic.org and it seems everyone agrees:
-Cassindra's Chorus of Clarity, level 32, original era, has no icon. It's a flat 5 mana per pulse. -Cassindra's Chant of Clarity, level 20, Kunark era, has no icon. This is 2 mana per pulse. -Cantata of Replenishment, level 55, Kunark era, *is* an icon buff. It's a base of 12 mana per tick at level 55. -Cantata of Soothing, level 34, Velious era, *is* an icon buffs. Base of 5 mana/tick. So, from Kunark on out, the "best" mana song will have an icon. It can be twisted with the level 32 pulse-based song, though, so it's kind of the best of both worlds. --------------------- However much it pisses me off its true. Manasong shouldn't have a song graphic bards can stack manasongs since they are pulse based. It pretty much destroys twisting since you just cast it over and over..... So yay for bard manasong auto-attack /afk! *Edit* (and gonna piss people off with this) I think it should be left as-is. The same way I think -40%xp should be taken off rangers. Just my worthless 2cp.

![]() Also to tag on this and maybe add a highlight to how pissed I am at my future of singing one song:
You CAN stack an icon mana buff song with pulse mana songs. So the twist would be Icon, pulse, pulse, Icon, pulse, pulse, for about 2x what we can manasong for now.. this of course is Kunark Era.... FML... *Edit* First of all Wenai, you know how like 3 people voted for you as best dev on the server? Yea one of them was yours truly! Don't let me down! Second, could you just fix other bard stuff until Kunark then.. "Fix" manasong?

![]() I don't *usually* do work on the spell file (or possibly source work) so this would not be a fix for me to handle.
With regards to whether or not you consider it a nerf; we just want things to be accurate. We don't make changes like this, or the removal of the regen from the magician line, or any other fix for the sake of a "nerf." We want to re-create things as accurately as we possibly can. I understand from time to time the changes implemented can affect your playstyle but we don't do anything for any vindictive reason. I have no vendetta against bards [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] In fact during/after Kunark they are one of my favorite classes to play. With regards to fixing any of the listed problems you have stated in your thread, they are not the type of fixes I can do unfortunately. I can work on quest issues, drop issues, spawn issues, npc stat issues and the such. Unfortunately I am self-taught for the most part in most of these areas and I do not have the ability to make game mechanic (often referred as source changes) which all of your listed issues are.

![]() 100% sure lvl 32 manasong was pulse based. In fact, I was very angry at Rytan when they nerfed it and I yelled on the concert hall a lot. It was during Luclin, and we routinely had a 'mana pump' set up, with 2 bards and 4 clerics, pulsing lvl 32 mana, and refreshing amplification and AE mana song when needed. Made for some nice mana regen.
I`ve put my bard on hold on this server while the fixes come in, I find it too rough to play untwinked with a broken class. I heard the song fizzle fix is coming, so that may help, but in the meantime I`m leveling up my girlfriend`s druid so we can buy gear to twink the bard. cheers, Astucexx (until they fix it to Astuce)
