I have had my eye on Blizzard for awhile, just have to finish up my degree first. Google I will forever hold grudge for banning me just cause I am blackhat (+ they would review why my adsense was shut down and deny).

There's an article here (http://techcrunch.com/2009/01/18/why...mployees-quit/) about why people quit working at Google, and most of them seemed to enjoy their time there. They do work you hard, though. One employee said, "But along with the food came the Google lifestyle: if you were staying for dinner, it better be because you were working afterwards. It was frowned upon to leave right after dinner." It still sounds like a fun place to work, but you won't be playing on the slides all day.
Still better than many current careers in a technology related field. I am expected to work late when asked, which happens more and more since the so called "recession" was the reason half of my team was let go. Yay for donating more time/energy to company...

Even with all of the caveats, Google seems like a dream job.

Beautiful pics and excellent perks. Much of the reason for these dates back to the pre-bubble bursting 90's when the only way to attract and keep talent in places like Silicon Valley was to offer such things because everyone else was doing it (you can blame Netscape in many ways for starting this cultural change). Other businesses had to start offering perks to keep up. I am impressed, however, that Google continues to be able to do so. I wonder if it's at every campus or just corporate headquarters?

Not to start a flame war, but I thought this post might also be of interest to the discussion:

I figure it just helps to underscore my belief that the most important relationships you have at work are not w/ your HR person, the slide to the front office, or even the physical therapist at the pool, but w/ your individual manager and teammates. If those relationships suck, it doesn't matter where you work.
