Default The non-epic Ranger (50+)

I can’t see getting even the Swiftwind (casual player). For situations when you aren’t face tanking when does dual-wield edge out 2h? My ranger is 54.

Seems for a few thousand plat there are some budget options:
Woodsman Staff
Jade Mace/wurmslayer primary & Silk Whip/CSS/Club of Ice Ocean secondary

I know it’s less than ideal. Just curious when you think jade > wurm and dual-wielding > Woodsman (if ever).

Thank you.

Join a guild and get swiftwind within a week. It's a really easy fight and mob is almost always up.

Drops 2 stones so you'll also get kudos for providing a second Druid/ranger an epic drop.

Plat and time is less the issue. Gathering people to run to PoS, the Hole, etc would be the bottleneck...I'm boringly casual. Unless I'm misunderstanding you can MQ it like the rogue one (ie one click = epic).

Any chance someone has parsed a Woodsman and the epics side-to-side? Left to my small math brain I was calculating weapon ratios and offhand DW chance (approx 60% at lvl 60) and got this fuzzy logic. I'm sure it's wrong and even if correct it's not a parse...

Woodsman Staff at Level 60 with 31 damage bonus.
No haste Ratio - 2.6571
+ Silver Chitin Handwraps (x 1.22%) - 3.2416
or + Cloak of Flames (x 1.36%) - 3.6136

Meanwhile Epics (not calculating attk bonus or proc) with a 11 damage bonus for mainhand only:
Unhasted Earthcaller mainhand ratio - 1.625
Unhasted Swiftwind offhand ratio (no dmg bonus) - 0.7428
Combined unhasted ratio - 2.3678
+ Epic haste (x 1.40%) - 3.3149

Notes:
Main hand ratio: (dmg * 2) + (damage bonus))/delay
Offhand ratio: (dmg * 2) / delay
Approximate DW chance at level 60 w/ 240 skill (60%)
Worn haste increase x 1.36% or 1.40% respectfully.

Thanks.

The Swirling Sphere of Color from Sky drops like 6 times per raid. I've got one you can have for free. PM me whenever/if you get to that step.

The Hole is also an easy one group fight. If you can get a group down there for exp it should be no problem.

It can't be MQed quite as easily. But the real and only hard parts are the stone from Venril Sathir, the Shattered Emerald from Hate (which is even harder now that Hate mini spawns were nerfed to 3 days, though Earthcaller is kind of unnecessary), and maybe the piece from sky? But again, if anyone runs Sky they probably have one gathering dust in the bank. The rest can be done casually on your own time.

Thanks so much!

I'll definitely think about starting my lazy ass in the right direction now [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.].

Oh, and you should be careful about the Kinlo steps. After the Hate mini nerf Swiftwind is the easier one to get and really the only one you "need," but know that both swords are meant to be quested and turned in together. I think turning in the hammer? is the point of no return. Once you do that, if you don't have the Earthcaller items on you and ready to go, you can't spawn Kinlo again later without doing all the foraging and running around again.
