It's almost as if this is an emulation of an 18 year old game that people start playing for nostalgia.
No clue how people ended up playing it religiously and think you absolutely need to clear ToV every 7 days for the rest of your life. | ||

Crawling around NToV felt a lot more fun and nostalgic than staring at a wall waiting for monks to exploit FD to conveyor belt bosses to the zone line. I wouldn't want to do either every single week, but I think that's the point. Tunare is a serious time commitment and no one does her every week, despite her having some BiS gear. ToV would be better off that way too, because when one guild is tired of crawling ToV for a week or two, other guilds could get a turn.
Ah who am I kidding, AM would still be in ToV for the full clear every single week, even if it took them 16 hours of nonstop raiding.
