I think it was added some time before epics and if my memory serves me right epics were added in September of 2000.

I was browsing the old Afterlife archives and found this:

Afterlife was in Veeshan's Peak in early August of 2000 killing Silverwing and I see a Monk equipped with the robe.

Does anyone have the confirmed date?
