Boat routes/specifics are something I want to fix before a new server is released. When the boat paths were originally developed, the routes were as they are now.. correct(?) but not classic.

I really just need to get all the needed details, and go from there.

Here is an old thread with some info for collaboration.

Thanks Nilbog, do you think the animation is fixable as well vs the boats freezing in place and clicking away. Just curious really.

This thread is a good candidate for those "The difference between MY Friday nights and YOUR Friday nights" threads

Some faded memories of boat travel in the early days (began playing the day Kunark was released as a reference):

- The video in the thread Goblin, I mean Nilbog posted shows the boat leaving the docks heading to the left. I've always remembered the boats leaving towards the right.

- The boat's "classic" direction was backwards to compass maps as others here noted. Personally, I prefer the correct direction currently implemented.

- The boats can be targeted and their names would appear in the combat window. While practicing my Intimidation skill with my bard, I succeeded and the boat temporarily paused since it was following a path and thus could not be feared off of it.

- I watched druids cast Sow on the boat and they would move faster until zoning.

- The shuttle boat from Erudin to the boat in the ocean used to line up with the dock. Currently on here, you need to jump the guard rail to board it.
