Just start a human monk in Qeynos and drop trade the items necessary for the lvl 1 monk to turn in for you, then drop trade the turn ins back to your iksar monk.

Then just kill Thena Lonnes for the sash.

This doesn't mess up any required faction for the epic, right? Just human monk faction (which is already shit as an Iksar)?

Just freeport human monk faction I believe, but as you mentioned, they aren't big fans of Iksar's in the first place so it didn't do much. I remember pulling Thenna was a little finicky but it didn't take too many tries to split her.
