Just curious - as p99 isn’t listed on playerauctions.com (the only EQ RMT site I know of), where do RMT transactions take place? Cause these people would be pretty dumb to just arrange them via /t...

Here's the thing: P99 has an all volunteer staff getting tons of new players and new petitions every day, new RMTers every month, etc. While I'm sure they would love to make perfectly fair rulings all of the time, that would require perfect information, which they don't have. So they do the best that they can with what info they do have, and if they lack some info then instead of spending days researching that info (and putting every other ticket on hold until they do) they sometimes leap to conclusions and ban people first, then fix mistakes later.

In other words, I wouldn't think of it as a "misuse of power" or anything at all hostile, so much as a simple lack of resources. Too many tickets plus too few (unpaid) staff members = not enough time to handle each ticket "properly".
