Honestly peridots drop so infrequently this seems like a non issue, but I do think the fact that clerics spend around 20-40pp per round of buffs should be noticed. I try to toss them some extra merchant gems to ensure that they get back their dot money.

I think that some people don't realize that clerics need to buy peridots to fully buff people or simply don't think about it. I am sure if you just said, "mind if I get the peridots" people would gladly give them to you.

The rule on my server, at least for seb was, gems go two to the cleric then one each to the rest. And honestly, once you count in all the group a cleric joins, buffs, and then has break up 2 mins later - it evens out.

I am not going to ask or beg or any of that nonsense for you to give it to either the Cleric or the Enchanter who can use it to save your butt. Nor do I say that you are not within your right to keep it being a member of that group. But really, what are you going to do with it? Sell it? Its worth 10 PP, and for most at the level where Peridots drop that isn't much. Many Kunark items are going for much more than that.
As your healer I almost never loot because I am too busy either Medding up or trying to save your ass. If I spent that time looting I would not have the mana to save you from your ill conceived train. (even with Clarity, if a Bard is there too, then OK)
I don't complain about that, your health is MY responsibility and I only loot when I know that someone isn't going to die or I (on those rare occasions) win a roll on an item. So not only do I not take a lot of the trash loot (which adds to your coffers) I spend a Peridot on the Tank to keep her happy, one on me as a timer so I don't die and then you die and another on the Chanter who is Monster bait. That's 30 PP every hour from my loot.

So the next time you are grouped with a Cleric or Chanter. Consider giving it to someone who can use. You also may want to watch and see how much your Cleric is looting and if they are not, offer another item that they can sell later.(Preferable light in nature) We may say we don't need it, but you should offer. It just might save your life.

Maybe you should say something, or is it my responsibility to keep track of everyone's reagents?
I think your post would have been more effective this way:

Just in case anyone doesn't know, peridots are an important reagent for clerics, and given how important we are in groups, you should give them to us as opposed to selling them for approximately 10pp at a vendor.

Thanks!

Have to agree with this part. I'd say you definitely deserve it. However prior to this post, I had no idea what reagents a Cleric/Enchanter/Wizard/Everyotherfuckingclassbutmyown uses for his/her spells. Reason being, I've never, ever played one. Not 10 years ago and not now, please don't blindly expect everyone to know what you need through some psychic ability. Hell, I barely even remember what reagents I need offhand for some of my own spells [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

You can still type and med I assume, yes?

Don't be shy, just ask! Most people aren't being greedy or selfish, they just either don't realize that some of our buffs costs or if they do, it's not something they actively think about.

All you have to say is something to the effect of "I'd like to recoup some of my peridot costs if that's ok"

Ahhh so you learned something today. Now you know. I actually agree with almost everything everyone has said here. If nothing else though, I had hoped to educate people about what it is like from a Clerics point of view. Am I going to go broke if you don't give me the Dot. No. I am doing OK thank you. I think that as a student of the game though that everyone whether you have played a class or not should familiarize themselves with the capability of other classes. It will make you a better player knowing what to expect.

Can I type and Med at the same time.....Yeah.....Should I have too...debatable.

Until today I had no idea Clerics needed peridots or and other gem for buffs. Kinda of shitty really. If I was a cleric I wouldn't cast those [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Anyone that has defected from Live and doesn't play a cleric probably would have never have even thought of this. They removed the reagent from symbols and a host of other spells many years ago.

Perodots for Cleric Symbols
Emeralds for Cleric's Divine Intervention (is it even in game yet? heh)
Opals for Druid's Wake of Karana (turning off rain/snow)

I'm sure there are a few others. Enchanters use something for Runes.
