Sry for your troubles. The machines are gonna take all our jerbs and climate change is going to shrink the icecaps and expand the deserts. This means more desert dwellers migrating. It also means opening up the arctic for oil exploration. Now, California is well ahead of schedule on converting to renewable energy. See:

So basically the world is at a tipping point. We could get off fossil fuels and try to make the world a better place for everyone. We could feed the world with hemp seed which takes far less land to produce massive amounts. But what we're seeing is fossil fuel powers like Russia trying to tip it back in the other direction and Trump is their creation.

Read Report From Iron Mountain on the Possibility and Desirability of Peace. It's a fake government report ... political satire on the level of 1984. But I'm not aware that anyone has approached the central issues more lucidly. Would society break down in a state of sustained peace? Is infinite war the only thing that makes society possible?

One thing Report contemplated as a means for societal organization in the absence of perpetual war was a crisis of massive environmental pollution and degradation. Kinda like what we're seeing now.
