The coolest donation was when Welgrim Battlehammer did a big in-game raffle where you could buy tickets with real money.

5 figures means at least 10 grand, and 10 grand is still a good chunk of change, even to a doctor

Mind you, I know a guy on Live who had like, 8 paid for accounts and he didn't mind, cause basically he had no other real hobbies and didn't drink or go out to eat or what have you so it wasn't an issue for him at all to pay for it.
