Stealing items or trying to steal them is more than makes up for when u gotta bag or suicide.

Also having no drop gear sets and also no value gear sets..all good stuff and it makes the economy way better as stuff that gets uses gets taken and resold .

Sullon Zek had xp loss on pvp death and it worked.

Rallos ruleset would be a close second for server choice, I started on Rallos in EQ beta. Unfortunately everyone would be only in no drop and/or bag all their dropables soon as someone zoned in. On the upside shin greaves would be a thing again, along with all the other no drop garbage we use to have to wear..

There is one more slight upside to rallos/item loot that ties into another "unclassic" thing on this pvp server, and that is 3rd person view as opposed to forced 1st person. Melee are made WAY STRONGER on this server than they are supposed to be all on account of the client lets us get out of forced first person view. This is a big reason why melee are too strong in pvp vs. casters in this era on this server. Forcing (especially lower level) melees to down grade some of their gear to no drop garbage would help mitigate that, so there is that.

So yes honestly either clone rallos ruleset, or sullon zek. That pill can be made easier to swallow by those in charge since they can tell themselves "well its classic now". If they must. And others can be silenced with the same line.

But what we have now is awful. My logging in dropped like a rock when I saw people being suspended for auto attacking a single hit on enemies "looting and scooting" in the middle of mass pvp.

We need in game systems, not posted books of rules. Let people do what they want (except training) so long as they are willing to pay the xp death price. Risk/Reward/Consequence/Freedom.

tl'dr: Keep it classic. Clone rallos or sullon ruleset and step back from out sandbox.

I'm not sure of the point you are getting at.

Are you being ironic in your use of the word useless?

Obviously a cleric could be parked as a reset rez bot or be used as a battle rezzer.

An Enc might be focussing on CC or charm dps.

The wizard could be mobilising people.

The warrior could be beserk/precision on dps fights, or even be in the tanking line up but never get his chance to step up.

Are you saying having a geared warrior that doesn't tank is a waste, or are you saying having a geared warrior that doesn't tank is not a waste?

Your OP could be arguing either view?

Got top 5 DPS on a warrior pretty easily so big shrug. Not sure how other pals are auto attacking these days.
