is overthere that much better than FV? Having song merchants right there seems like a good deal for the 20-30 crowd.
I managed to pick up all the songs I would deem important through 24. So that is not an issue for myself. As far as FV in the 20s, where at? I'd love to hear some good places to AE kite! I've never exp'ed in FV, only ever played Red Rover with the draknid spider people otw to LOIO. My list provided above was never meant to be definitive, but I was doing my best to provide suggestions.

The reason I got out of LOIO was when i decided to look up ZEMs and realized that LOIO is like the only zone in classic to have a NEGATIVE ZEM.

As for OT, I did 90% of 21 in ~1hr last night. I was in LOIO at the time, so i zoned into WW, gathered up all the iksar from the LOIO cave, the lake, and the 2 buildings and kited them down for ~15-20% of the level. Then i headed to OT, and literally spent as much time gathering up huge packs of mobs as I did dot-kiting them down. I think it took 3 groups to level. I dinged 22 with just over an hour /played (session) for the night after logging on with 10% of L21.

Your way is better. Firiona Vie is terrible. Too many trees to kite uninhibited unless you want to run them up near the western swamp zoneline. Spiders and other casters everywhere.

Once i got dragon haste and some 18 delay weapons my melee dps isn't half bad considering no double attack, clocked at around 40dps on Krups in sebilis, granted rogues and monks are like 100+.

But if you clock in a charmed bok knight your dps is really high.

But you can't mez effectively in kunark 50+ zones until 53, so until then its a bit annoying needing a enchanter and a bard in the group, after 53 though you can replace a enchie which gets you groups a lot easier when chanters are no where to be found.

I originally tried to twist in the 18 and 2 AE dots, but ended up just going with the 18 dot after about 2-3 kite attempts. With the increase dot range from the 18 dot, I don't feel so scared to go from kiting 3-7 at a time to 15+, so I now tend to gather larger groups. The reason being: if you aren't PERFECT with that L2 dot with 15+ mobs, be ready for a CR.

I just saved myself the CR troubles by pulling more mobs and just taking a bit longer to take them all down. Do a few kites, you'll quickly figure out your comfort zone (and the ranges of your songs).

At 21, my typical kite consisted of running around 5-10min gathering a pack, 10-20sec grouping up the pack, and the next 10min dotting down the pack. I'd twist the 18 dot and selos, swapping instruments as needed. If I did get hit at all, I'd twist 18dot+hymn+selos, swapping instruments. I'd end fights with 80+%hps, loot up with hymn running and move on to the next gathering stage.

I did 18-24 in EK twisting both as much as humanly possible. Chords isn't that hard to land, just don't be suicidal about it. When you've landed Denon's, it's pretty pointless to not try to go for Chords as well... you're just wasting time anyways.

Or, with the speed bonus Selo's gives at those levels and a little practice, it's really easy to just tap left or right in a rhythm that keeps you in song range but out of melee range at all times.

Has anyone tried 50+ kiting in Kunark? I'd be pretty worried about adding the lvl 48 dot/snare to the mix, due to hard-to-control changes in mob runspeed, but the ridiculous xp to be had by kiting groups of 10-15 is quite enticing!
