Can't do a war without public support. The public continues to be highly suspicious of war.

There certainly isn't a lot of evidence that anyone is cool with going to war with Russia. You know -- the world's second biggest nuclear power.

Even when it comes to killing Muslims in the dessert there is little patience. I don't have a crystal ball when it comes to what might happen hundreds of years from now. But I doubt within Trump's tenure he will get any public support for big conflict.

His best bet is North Korea. There has always been a good case for a war with North Korea and then letting South Korea take over the rebuilding/democratizing aspect of the whole thing. But Trump is so unpopular, the public probably wouldn't even trust him with that one.
Pushing around small countries gives Americans a raging hardon. A war against North Korea would be wildly popular, just like Iraq was initially wildly popular. Trump would only need to market it properly, say they had some new development in ICBM range or warhead miniaturization.

Would also be a big boon to the millions of young American males who sign up to kill people to improve their socio-economic situation.

So it'll be a continuation of diplomacy from the Trump administrstion set up by the Obama administration by to prevent war that'll inevitably lead to war because of fate or whomever was the scorpion in the fable?
Who or what was the scorpion representing?
hmm? Well I mentioned the story originated in the middle-east, I heard it first decades ago. And we were discussing Persia ... er I mean Iran that Hitler renamed it to. So in this case I'm prolly referring to that country, though the story meaning is broader than just Iran, but includes them. Never heard that story before? It's very well known there.

Trump recited a version of the story here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qu6_2hFTw74 undoubtedly based on the original scorpion version.

As for what 0bama did, how can Trump continue that?? That's done, it was a big fat gift, appeasement to the scorpion. Why do you want to spark a war right now so badly? It's too late to stop that, they are ready, will move soon, 0bama already made that happen, done deal. Now it's just a matter of waiting for a vulnerability, as any well schooled tactician would tell you. All you would be doing is giving them what they want, a huge dirty world war on their terms so they can fulfill their muslim sects prophecy.

The region is full of invaders, they won't always hide in shelters. This has repeated time and time again, and defeated each time. Their weakness is at a level of the definition of insanity: keep doing the same damn thing again and again expecting a different result.

Hey dude

Iran has been invaded by Greeks, Arabs, Turks, and mongols in its history

Who is the scorpion again?

PS: Iran was called that natively since the Sassanian period. It was never called Persia since that's a transliteration of a Greek word. Hope this helps!

Wouldn't it be funny if it turned out North Korea hasn't launched or even so much as said a damn word for the past 30 years, and the missile talk is just a Chinese intelligence asset that sort of cooperates and aligns with US interests when it stands to benefit, but also sometimes just gives the US a bone to chew on in geopolitics.

Look how China daddies down North Korea when the US begs and offers incentives...

Its mafia-esque, thats the definition of racketeering. Creating the problem, to offer the solution to the problem for money. We know its very unlikely North Korea has any capability that has not been granted to them by directly by China. So even if they have the missiles, or gained technology, Its a legitimate racket.

Disgusting. Yeah look everyone at the barking steroid coked up mad dog in the bar, but if you pay his quiet friend 20 bucks the dog can't see you for the next few nights and might even bite other people for you. (friend witnessed this gimmick in a mob frequented area back in the early 1990's, had a collar on and everything. Someone ended up whipping the dogs ass, but not before the owner laughed his ass off. Thats China.)

Looks like Brexit is going through and with recent moves by Turkey today against the dutch and EU Le Pen and Wilders will be a shoe in. Wanted to congratulate (((Januaga))) for most consecutive missed predictions by a single person.

Been listening to BBC satellite radio recently, its been very surprisingly pro-Brexit without even needing to be pro-Brexit. They just do what the American media cannot, they accept REALITY. They discuss how to accomplish Brexit, the stages involved, and what is likely to happen without ANY bitterness or bias. They ACCEPT democracy. The vote is OVER.

They had a vote (((Jarnauga))) lost.

Its nice when news casters and anchors actually cover the events and are aligned with the interests of the people. Much more pleasant to listen to actual facts and the way forward instead of how to tear it down and destroy it.

Well you likely know this, it's the ideology wrapped up into that pseudo-religion. So it's not just a nation or ethnicity.

As for the name, search Iran and Hitler. It's Aryan, they changed it in 1935.

Pro-defense, yeah. We still have interest in the region, just invasion is too costly in lives and resources. We're Americans, and with short memories, little patience. We should have learned by now. Maybe we have a little, by the results of the recent election.

Best way I can describe the world right now: cascade failure.

Zoroastrianism was the official religion of Iran when it was initially called Iran back in the 200's.

How's that information relate to the scorpion analogy? Curious.

Ach, the BBC is an establishment mouthpiece - we just pay for it o_0. They usually do provide an illusion of balance - you're right - but with the recent tectonic shift to knuckle dragging central it seem's that's no longer deemed necessary. A Whitehall more ruthless than Thatcher's is taking us on a Victorian extravaganza, in plain view and with the woefully badly informed consent of the electorate : Dickensian Values, scapegoating and brown shirts are in.

Brexit won a narrow victory on a wave of populism, and deceit - and the results will not be aligned with the interests of the people at all. It's an unmitigated economic disaster for everyone in the UK who isn't wealthy enough to have off shore accounts, shares in Fracking, Private Health Care, G4S.

Just to give you an example of the insanity being delivered here - the EU accounts for 90% of Welsh Agricultural exports, and 70% of the rest. As a result of Brexit we're OUT of that single market, without a plan.

Additionally, I'm not sure if the top Brexiteers planed for the break up of the UK as a result, but with NI talking reunification with Ireland, and Scotland announcing a new Independence referendum - there may be no UK left to make Great Again - it will be little England, with less oil, less water, less whisky, and no where to park their nukes o_0
