Default New to the server

I'm an old school player that started playing EQ the day it was released. Countless hours were spent playing this game. Anyway, after playing many other MMOs over the years....i am returning to my roots. What was once so familiar is now quite foreign. Its fun relearning this game. Anyway...

I know this is a question that only I can answer but, i'm looking for input for you all. I can't decide which class to play. Is there a shortage of any certain class that would make finding a group/casual guild easier? My main toon was a rogue back in the day. I had a ranger, shaman and some low levels of other classes.

Anyway...thanks in advance for your time.

I don't think there is really a shortage of any classes that are sought after in groups per se but wizards tend to be in short supply at the end game and are desired for raiding because of high dps and ports. The problem is that no one wants you in a group because wizards are very inefficient compared to other classes in groups. You will be stuck spending countless hours soloing via quadding. I personally didn't mind it but it wouldn't be everyone's ideal choice. Just a couple cents on wizard as an option for ya.

You should be able to find groups no matter which class you choose. Tanks, healers, and CC will probably find groups a little more quickly. I suggest just picking something that suits your preference of playstyle. EverQuest has a pretty wide variety of ways to progress through the game, so just pick one you think you'll enjoy most.

I played for ~6 hours tonight. Our group was 1-2 people short at all times. Literally anybody filling the gaps would have been accepted (and they were, when the lfg player /ooc was announced).

Don't take this "state of the server" meaning groups are always short. I was in Oasis which was absolutely crowded with like 60+ players. So whichever group PM'd first got the player that was LFG I feel.

Default Thanks...

Thanks for the input. I'm settling in with a dwarven cleric and looking forward to my first group. I've handled MT healing in rift raids and played a healer in LOTRO and WOW...so I'll see how it goes here.

My "other" half, I refuse to say "better", saw me playing and wants to play now too. So...I'll end up with another toon to compliment her Necro.

Anyway...I look forward to seeing you all in game.
