And to reiterate, yet again, I don't care that I didn't get a drop. I wasn't expecting to get one. I just plain and simple thought it was unfair that if you were not a low level killing newbie mobs, it was incredibly unlikely that you would see a drop. I simply thought that 80% of the rare drops going to toons under level 10 was unbalanced and unfair. I sent tells to people who were over level 10 who got a rare because I was generally excited that they beat the odds and got something.
As Pheer implied, if you see nothing wrong with how unbalanced the drops were, then I don't know why you are even reading this thread.

Odeseus some people just like trolling and throwing logic out the window with arguments that are valid just so they can have a say in something.
It's a specific character type that is easily stereotyped on the intarnet - I spot em from a mile away and try not to get drawn into their banter. Best to just stick with valid arguments and avoid responding to trolls.

The last statement was aimed towards the devs, more than just your random trolls. Honestly, if they would just say something along the lines of the following, it would go far to give people like me peace of mind. If they would say something like this:
"We are aware that more rare loot dropped for extremely low level chars than was intended. However, there was no quick and easy fix for this like there was for lowering the initial drop rate. And not only that, we had issues with the boats and people dying because of it. And on top of that, we were trying to keep a handle on training and griefing of all kinds. We simply did not have the time, nor resources to fix this relatively flaw (which we hope you understand)." If the devs would just say something like this, I could completely understand why they did not address it. And, like I said, it would just give me peace of mind.

On a server full of min-maxers, it shouldn't surprise anyone that they determined the best chance of getting a rare was to maximize the amount of XP-giving mobs in a given time period. In this case, it meant making a low level character and buffing it out and twinking it up. Everyone had this opportunity. You had to choose between doing that or trying to be the first over to Kunark to re-experience 11-year-old content or try to lock down certain camps. To each their own. It was fair because we all had the same opportunities and decisions to make about how we wanted to spend launch night.

Yendor's logic wins. Did not consider that aspect.

Some of us have hundreds of thousands of platinum worth in items. We don't give a shit about someone else getting them. I've probably given away more in rubicite breastplates' worth than you've gained your entire time here, playing 3x as much as me. It still doesn't detract from his logic. Surely there is no damage to the economy done :P

True Yendor, but it is/was my opinion that the system was used specifically to attempt to distribute the rares to as many different groups of players as possible. So that everyone, regardless of level, would have an relatively equal chance at getting a rare.
As such, I believe that so many rares going to one group of people (low levels specifically made to farm the rares) was unintended. A dev or GM could clear this up, but this is what I believe.
