Because venting about why I was not particularly happy with the event is cathartic. And reading that many people had no issue with how things went down helps put the issue into better context for me. That is why I am here doing what I'm doing =p

I didn't use thorns or have any high level help to mass slaughter. I just ran around with my ranger and had a little druid friend the same level.

On that same note, I noticed right away that if you did use thorns all of the lower end mobs would die instantly and their corpses would dissapear immediately. It's kind of ironic actually, that people who had access to high level druid friends got boned in this fashion.

I specifically killed kobolds for the drops. Two out of the four drops I received were kills by my level four druid friend. We're going to split the money and help out our friends.

Also, I'm going to be keeping the Mistwalker and using it. I'm a ranger. Cheers!
You got two Thex daggers, Mistwalker, and a Guise.

The correct post to make on this thread was: "u jelly?"

There was absolutely nothing about the event that people are complaining about that they couldn't have prepared for beforehand. As far as there being too many rare drops from the event, I can tell you that the percentage of the population with those rare items is probably still lower than when those items were first taken out.

Thanks devs, I know me and my group had lots of fun.
People threw huge fits about the implications of the halloween event too. OHHHH MYY GOD I'M 25% LESS SPECIAL in a game i've invested my life into for a year! Major issues with that statement aside, how many of those people still play? Did any of those drops influence the game negatively aside from the reactionary qqing? Nope.

Go to any everlore archived discussion of a gm event. We didn't do anything wrong, it's human nature for people to rub the sand out of their vag in a way that publically externalizes all of the rage they personally didn't get a thing.

I couldn't give less of a shit that I didnt get a drop, I already have several of those items and wasn't stressing over getting a rare or not in the first place. If you can't see the flaw in level 1-5 mobs dropping 50-100kpp++ items in considerable quantity then Im not sure what else to say.

Not to mention people aren't "bitching to the devs here" this is the FnF forums and people come to bitch about any and all things. People should not get butt hurt because someone doesn't agree with them.

Forgot to add you have to consider that these arent just fun no drop rare items, theyre items with considerable platinum value and you basically just pumped hundreds of thousands of plat worth of items into the economy.

Dmned if you damned if you don't. After the loot drops were made less common with server reboot, that is when I think it really got skewed. Yes all the people who were lvls 1-5 being buffed were getting the majority, and nearly most, even multiples for the same people. Perhaps the answer would have been to not tone the drops down? More drops might have spread it out some amongst zones. I know we didn't see one drop in mistmoore the entire time.

Or perhaps, even though it seems not politically correct for p99, do not have them drop in newb zones. kind of as a reward for the people who had time invested here, and not those who just took advantage of the event. No drops in west freeport, but east and west commons sure. Tox, no. But kerra , ok.

If a ds kills a mob, and you didn't do damage, it poofs.

Hey man, you at least got to participate in the event. Like many other events, others were working, had other things going on in life and/or were unable to log in for whatever reasons.

Be thankful in that respect. I think the rare 1337 loot that was dropped and awarded to nubs was an unintended consequence. I am pretty sure setting up loot to drop on mobs that are close to the lvl of the loot would be a big time sink....so they just put it random on all mobs. Who knows, I am just guessing.

Maybe if we donated more they could invest more time in event planning so they don't have such consequences. I guess that's something they may be able to answer.

I know EQ live had the legends server that you used to pay a "premium" for to have access to more events and GM driven interaction. Players did have to pay the premium because of the time involved.

I think the same goes here. They can only plan so much with the time they invest.
