Okay, a quick recap.

Nostalrius closed its doors to upwards of 12-14k players a long while back due to a C&D letter issued by Blizz, and a hotly rumored threat of a financial investigation. Some of the members of the server staff made overt attempts of claiming to be representatives of players wanting classic wow in an attempt to gain employment at Blizzard. This failed miserably, leaving their project adrift.

For whatever reason - the one they gave was that it was an effort to continue classic WoW for all of it's fans - the Nostalrius staff gave limited access to the player account database as well as full access to their game server core to the Valkyrie WoW project. The Valkyrie staff closed their own vanilla project in an effort to reset the servers for a fresh launch of the Nostalrius core with the promise of restoring old accounts of the Nostalrius players on two of the servers.

Over 30k players responded to Valkyrie's offer. Within 3 weeks some form of motivation was given to the Nostalrius staff that were still on board to announce that they wanted to take their ball back and go home. The accounts that had not been claimed from the old Nostalrius servers by their players would be erased, and more than that, one week in of the server set launch by Valkyrie saw access to the player database ended.

Enjoy the resulting dumpster fire. It's a pretty big one.

and then we have Valkyrie's reponse.
