I've got a mage with blank purple icons ofr all my summoning spells and they won't copy to the hot keys. Everything else seems to work though.

Because Tash icon is supposed to look like ranger predator attack buff?

Either I am doing something wrong or a file is not working with my system or file is messed =/

ps. If you aren't going to contribute to trying to help, can do well without comments.
Fist of all I'm pretty refrained in how I post on a forum but when people can't even look up the basics then I get a bit pissed. I contribute a lot, a fuck ton in fact to helping out people on these forums and in game thanks. Just for you I'm going to quote what I posted in the stickied UI walkthrough thread above:

Quote:
The spells_us.txt file contains two components about spell icons. The first tells which icon to use for the spell itself; as seen in the spellbook and casting bar. The second tells it which icon to use for the buff window. There is also info in there about range, damage and all the other effects associated with what a spell actually does.

The amount of icons available matches up with how many there were at the end of Velious. The icons are picked based on how many were available for the timeframe that p1999 is at - currently the classic 23 icons are available. This would change with the release of the velious UI change (which was around the end of kunark iirc) allowing the other 120 or so icons to be used in the spellbook. So you will see all movement spells use the foot icon, all illusions would use the same icon for clarity and dispell as examples. This is how it was in classic.
I would suggest going back through the walkthrough and doing each stage for your version of box set. The default UI has 4 hotbars, 2 horizontal and 2 vertical - choose the ones you want to use (this is how it is on Live). The default_old uses columns of 2x5 as it was on Live.

So if I am understanding this correctly, the icon problem that I feel I am having is not a problem but simply a part of the game since during this time there were a limited amount of spell icons to choose from?

The UI/horizontal bar issue, i figured out, thank you.

My concern was that many spells shared icons in the spell book.

Again, if this is the case then I guess my game is working as it should. If there is a way to have it the way it was prepatch (icons matching with each individual spell, illusion with its icon, clarity with its own, haste with the little arm moving, etc) then I will do whatever changes necessary, if not then, Ill take playing the game with some dupe icons as this is the way its suppose to be.

Thanks.

Try using the All in One Installer in my signature to change your icons to either classic/luclin/ or titanium.

They all work perfectly for me with the Kunark update on all 3 UIs Velious/Default and Duxaui
