Abacab, this is not a "who has the bigger plight" argument. Men AND women fight for this country and risk their lives. so that if I was raped, I'd not be laughed at for reporting it. The point you're trying to make is that men get punished harder, scrutinized more, etc. I get it. But with that you are forgetting that (whether I want to admit it or not) this country and WORLD is ultimately run by men. Yes it's gotten more balanced out recently but you can't bullshit me with your "facts" about how men get it up the ass in the courtroom and overseas and have it so fucking bad. If you want all the fucking control and responsibility, take all the punishment. It's the same argument for the feminists who want "equal rights" and equal wages and opportunities and all that - which is nice - but also want their boyfriend to pay for their dinner every time. Equal rights means EQUAL - give, take. That goes all around, imo.
Way to get way off topic.

Either come at me civil, or take your butthurt elsewhere. The point is as a male I will never make a false rape report (lol) and even if it was real I'd just get laughed out of the police station and by general society, for reference to this look up that female teacher that was sleeping with male students not one person took it seriously and gave the teen high fives for fucks sake, and if the roles were reversed the male teacher would've been demonized and the girl would've filed several suits. Now, as a male I'll never file false reports... I don't see the same coming from the other gender and even if those said reports are dismissed because of false information, women are still making them over petty drama, men are not.

It sounds like you're grouping all women into a category and saying I'm going to make a false rape report. But that's fucking idiotic so I'll assume that's not what you meant. That's like saying all men are rapists. I'd never do that to a guy if I regretted having sex with him when I was drunk even if I consented. But yes, some girls do this.

So why do you expect men to take the full burden of responsibility? You can only use the patriarchal society argument so long before it's redundant and it simply becomes the ad nauseam for every plight facing womanhood, but the issue is women take zero responsibility but want full privilege at the cost of everyone else and that diminishes the rights of everyone not specifically just men. There is a reason why there is a long slew of political correctness, harassment clauses, "women only" places, and that's because of the same argument I stated above, you want privilege as opposed to pure equality. As for the women dying for the country that's just lol, women getting hit by ricochet fire does not constitute fighting for a country, that's just standing around in the wrong place, at the wrong time. The moment I see a youtube of some woman straight up combt knifing several insurgents down in the middle of a conflict I'll be more likely believe it... but I'm fairly certain women in the military are restricted to non-combative support roles.

44% of rape victims are under 18 years old; 80% are under 30. Two-thirds of rapes are committed by acquaintances. What does all that mean? Basically, that children and adolescents are the group most vulnerable, and that rape is generally not an "anytime, anywhere" type of crime. Whether or not the creepy guy at the gas station at midnight is a rapist, he's almost definitely not going to rape *you* as you pump your gas. You're far more likely to be raped by a guy you kind-of know from class and ask to drive you home from a party. Most rapists aren't 6'3, 240 pound 25-year olds that corner you in an alley. They're the 70-year old neighbor, the 55-year old priest, the geeky 30-year old math teacher, the kid from class, the guy from the club. They're either going to rape you as a child too young to defend yourself, or as a 20-something year old willingly putting yourself alone in a room or car with them. It's just not realistic to fear being shoved into a corner and raped as you go about your daily business. So, back to my point -- there's no reason for you to sacrifice any of your independence. You don't need to stop going to Wal-Mart or fueling up at night. You don't need your boyfriend to go with you, either. If it's an overwhelming fear, you can carry a gun and eliminate it. But in reality, it's an irrational fear. Assuming you're no longer a child, if you're going to be raped, the overwhelming statistical likelihood is that it's going to be by someone you know. Which means that as long as you make an effort to not be alone with a guy you don't know very well, you don't have to worry about being raped anymore than you have to worry about being hit by a car. Look both ways when you cross the road, don't walk through a bad neighborhood at night, and don't worry. By the way, I'm serious about the gun thing. A lot of women would be a lot better off if they owned one.

Daldoma: I'm not disagreeing with you at all. I guess I did put emphasis on the stranger danger when it is more likely to be raped by someone you see somewhat often. I realize that. And I know it's unlikely, but it's not impossible. On my college campus a girl was walking back from taking an exam from a building I went to every single day. It was about 10 at night. A man tried to attack her and she screamed for help. Luckily someone heard her and the man ran off but I could have easily been that girl. I had an exam the day before at 8pm in a building right next door to where it happened. No, it's not a constant fear of mine. But like you said, I don't usually put myself in situations that I need to be afraid of. That doesn't mean it never crosses my mind. So I have to disagree with you in that you can understand that fear. Men generally don't fear being raped. It is impossible for you to understand the fear of having a man overpower in such a way. It's not that you don't try to understand or you don't care or you don't have the empathy or capability. You just can't understand. That was what I was getting at. I just liked the message in the video [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
