Why is Sceptre of Desctruction so overpriced ?

Of course you are right there m8, not all is for sale. But remember the core raiders obtaining that gear is investing a serious amount of RL time in it.
And is that worth it?
But even if some think it is worth it, we still come to the prime critique of SoD holders:

SoD usefulness is so weak i just cant see why you wouldnt take 10 mil plat
Anything of the below is probably more than 3 times as useful:
Fungi+CoF
Manastone
Lockets of Escape and Puppet strings (plat income if you sell charges/binds)
High end gear (white dragon helm, vindi bp loot right, tov loot right, Statue/AoW/KT droppables, tov MQd class loot, haste song mask clicky loot rights, jboots MQ, Levi Cloak loot right)

All this is game breaking, compared to the 'uber aggro' of a SoD

Usefulness is a Word often used in guild loot policy.
Why shouldnt it be used in this discussion ?

If you compare the plat a SoD can give, and what you can use that plat for, the aggro argument of a SoD becomes Weak

There is just one thing that makes me see some form of logic in SoD holders:
If the person owning a SoD is already a CoF/fungi/hard core raider/Levi Cloak jboots etc then ofc they should keep the SoD [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] but that still means SoD is relatively useless and it makes no sense for any casual to buy the weap. The only possible buyer would be someone else who has all this stuff already (and lots of plat) and who likes to hold a SoD (for no real useful reason whatsoever?[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] )

Its actually not priceless, because you base only on what is today

Pricing is also forward looking

SoD is a technical problem to devs

They intend to release a server where SoD may well exist forever depending on how well people come to mutual agreement , then merge it with a server of awakened sleeper

You cant merge it then unless that problem is solved.

You cant take for granted the 12 amount supply of SoD
The day that assumption is broken, the day SoD 'priceless' will change into a meager 500k

The 12 SoD on the server belong only to the thickest of neckbeards who already have hundreds of thousands of plat at minimum. There is no "if" the person owning this item already has a fungi/Cof - they are in full nToV raid gear brah or they wouldn't have Sleepers keys since its dominated by 2 guilds.

I dont think anyone has ever made the argument that a casual player would be capable of buying a SoD on this server...

Protip: Amassing a sizable fortune in platinum takes more time and effort than "hard core neckbearding", and gives you less to show for it.

Let's elaborate a bit! Take, for example, the A-team. While the server heroes like myself and others in TMO killed every raid boos and paid very little attention to EC tunnel, A-team platinum miners spent the majority of their time increasing their virtual (and in at least one case IRL) bank accounts. Despite this leading to many A-team members being individually wealthy, a pretty good joke at the time was A-team having epics. They simply couldn't afford them.
