![]() Hey there !
I had originally planned to include this in the faction guide I am working on but I've decided to share this now as I've found more and more people who are not aware of this method. The method revolves around utilizing the USE CENTER SCREEN command which interacts with whatever object or NPC you are facing. This key will only work when you are in first person and is also useful if you need to open a door while you are carrying an item on your cursor. MOST importantly, however, is that pressing this key while you have an item on your cursor will automatically put it in a trade window with the NPC you are facing. Fast turn-ins: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkmEWJCJ0xs Video Explanation: You'll want to start by binding your USE CENTER SCREEN command to something that is CTRL+ any key that is within your reach to comfortably press while holding down CTRL with the same hand. I like to use CTRL+C (Left Hand 5th finger on CTRL, 2nd on C is a comfortable position for my hand). The reason it is important to have CTRL+ as part of the bind is because CTRL is the short-cut key that allows you to grab a single item out of a stack (CTRL+Mouse Click) This allows you to simply hold down the CTRL key, hover your mouse over your stack and alternate between C (or whatever you chose) and a mouse-click to almost instantly fill up the trade window with the NPC. This makes it so that you only need to move your cursor to hit GIVE rather than grabbing and moving your cursor over one item at a time. For bonus points adjust your bag window so the stack you are working on is right next to the GIVE button. If you are doing this with an NPC who is merchant you will need to stand a few steps back otherwise you will just open their vendor listings. Faster Combines: Crafting - https://youtu.be/3x2fmio8yRM Quest Turn-In w/Container - https://youtu.be/MTPv7KsuuCw Once you have the quick-trading down there is a way you can utilize it to do combines faster. This works both for crafting (if your combines can be done in a hand-held container) or quest turn-ins that require a combine before being turned in. Video Explanation: If you use the method above to fill the trade window with items, but then hit CANCEL instead of GIVE it will automatically return those items to you in the top leftmost bag that isn't full - see italicized section below for more detail. Place your quest or crafting container in that slot and use the same method to quick trade but hit CANCEL instead and you will automatically have all the items (up to 4 at a time) dumped into your container. If you are crafting you can dump the returned item (like a muffin tin) and the crafted item into your auto-equip slot. Make sure that you place at least 1 quantity of the crafted item (assuming it is stackable) throughout your other bag slots or dropping it into auto-equip will place it in your crafting container. You'll see that I've 'lined' my other bags with 1 muffin so they go into those slots when I auto-equip them. ----------------------------------------------------- When you pick up an item or drop it into your character sheet's auto-equip area it will automatically go into your inventory or bags in a specific order. This is how the items will be placed/filled in your inventory when you use the method to quickly put items in a trade window with an NPC then hit CANCEL to get them back. When getting an item your 8 inventory slots (or the bags in those slots) will be prioritized by columns: 1 5 2 6 3 7 4 8 Within the bags themselves the order is prioritized by row In a 4-slot bag it will fill.. 1 2 3 4 A 6-slot bag... 1 2 3 4 5 6 Etc. | ||
