Only a retard would think anything Swish said was intelligent. All he did is regurgitate the same EXACT things he's said probably 40 times in this thread alone. Phinny isn't classic cause rmt cause instances cause blahblahblah. I've never argued that Phinny is classic I've only argued that it's better whether its classic or not. What really matters to me (and should be what matters to everyone when playing a fucking video game) is whether or not its fun. Not whether or not it adheres to your definition of "classic" whatever the fuck that is. Not everyone even agrees on what era of EQ qualifies as classic. To people still playing on regular live servers 20+ expansions deep I'm sure some of them view Luclin and PoP as classic expansions. Some would argue only the base game is classic and kunark/velious aren't. P99 players/staff have no authority to decide for everyone else what "classic" means. Let's take a look at Swish's super well thought out list of reasons why Phinny isn't classic and thus sucks somehow

• RMT - VERY much Classic. People have bought and sold virtual items in video games (EQ included) since the dawn of the internet. Anyone who played EQ even a little bit during the first few expansions knows all about people buying/selling items on ebay. Also you're an idiot if you think RMT doesn't happen on P99.
  
  
• Instances - I concede this one. Instances are not classic. However I'm pretty sure the shitty behavior of the players and overall bad game design of open world raiding in classic EQ is what lead to instances becoming so prevalent in EQ and EVERY other MMO that followed. There's a REASON that open world raiding doesn't exist in basically any game anymore. I don't know how anyone can look at the P99 raid scene and not understand why instancing is a good thing. I mean I guess I get it I raided on P99 for a while myself. But I also believed in god and the tooth fairy at one point in my life. Eventually you gotta outgrow dumb shit and move on.
  
  
• Boxing - I 2 box'd off and on from Kunark all the way to PoR when I quit. Boxing is 100% unquestionably classic. I don't know how you can even argue that it wasn't. P99 is not classic for banning it (among a shitload of other reasons)
