Not really. I've been to plenty of clubs that don't pat you down. While almost every state has some sort of law that prohibits carrying while drinking, not all of them prohibit carrying into establishments that serve alcohol.

So if this were Massachusetts, for example, I could legally carry into any club that isn't patting people down. Would I? No, because chances are that I would be drinking, which IS against the law to carry while doing. This is usually the case for most club goers, and why there was nobody there to shoot back.

Also, all of this aside, there WAS a police officer on duty at the club. He couldn't stop the shooter.
Almost all clubs have signs posted that say "No Weapons" which includes knifes and guns.

In California it is legal to concealed carry in a bar but not while actually drunk. However, if you live in any big city the chances of you getting the CCW is slim to none especially with the Peruta v. San Diego decision.

In Oregon you can not only carry into a bar but you can carry while actually DRUNK.

Under federal law all police or retired police with a current ID card and qualification can carry almost anywhere including bars/clubs but they cannot drink a sip of alcohol under the law but this stipulation is never enforced.

The laws pertaining to concealed carry in Florida prohibit carrying in "Any portion of an establishment licensed to dispense alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises, which portion of the establishment is primarily devoted to such purpose;"

The chances of these 'club goers' carrying a firearm are slim to none since the majority probably voted for Obama and will vote for Shillary this election.

America doesn't have a gun problem, they have a liberal immigration problem. Look at Europe, some of the strictest gun laws in the world and yet the Muslim terrorists still managed to get weapons and kill people.

Once Donald is done nuking all foreigners he will then pick a state as his home state and nuke the other states as they are too different. Probably Texas.

Which aren't legally binding in all states.

Said that in my post.

Every state has a different license process, or in some cases no license at all. Massachusetts it is the chief of the town you live in, but the license is state wide.

It's called LEOSA, and no they are technically still bound by that state's laws which dictate where they can carry, and any limitations such as alcohol ingestion. As you mentioned, most of the time they are given professional courtesy.

Which is specific to Florida. Many states have only a small amount of 'off limit' carry places. As I mentioned above as an example, any such signs stating 'firearms prohibited' are not legally binding in Massachusetts.

What I'm really curious is how many of those people inside the club had what would normally be a survivable gun shot wound, but simply bled out because of a 3 fucking hour standoff.[/i].
This is general practice for jail guards too.

The police will take care of the situation, but if you're caught in the middle it's a scary thought to know you're basically on your own and containment is the goal.
