It's been years since I've played this. Don't know where my disks are. I've moved on to Path Of Exile which satisfies that Diablo 2 itch even more than Diablo 2 did

I never liked how your characters were deleted from battle.net if you didn't play them, so I stopped playing online.

I don't see a reason to play D2 at this point with Path of Exile out really.

Nostalgia? Better voice acting and voiceovers? Better atmosphere in D2 despite dated graphics? Music? Great item system?

Well music for sure. POE's music is good but D2 has the best original soundtrack ever.

Other than that, just nostalgia.

I'm down.

Foxx -- I purchased the D2 and D2 expansion pack CD codes from an online store for like $5 each. The site is now non existent (the codes worked just fine), I'm sure a quick Google search will find you a new CD key store.

Then I just used Alcohol 52% to emulate the CD's via a torrent, and bam, no CD's no problems.
If you have cd keys you can go to blizzard make an account register the cd keys and download the game from them.

Yeah I quit D3 early. Since we have the same opinion on D2 care you share your opinion on D3's soundtrack as well?

Interested to know if I missed out.

Although we have been playing in private games only, I've noticed that there is a *lot* of public games, specifically public games to actually walk the game (not trist runs, cow levels, rush games, etc.)

Looks like they reset the ladder in May. That would explain it.

Warms my heart to know they still paying attention to this classic.
