Swish is right, R's loss confirmed months ago unless we get a 3rd party centrist to run and they eat enough votes to deny Billary a majority. As it stands for the R's, Trump is unelectable. Cruz is barely electable. Too many people in each faction hate the other faction and will sit at home sulking if their guy don't win. For the D's it doesn't matter what the people want, the party and media has spoken for Billary and that is what we're getting. I am going to write in BigJapan on my ballot.

Reminds me of the 1980 election, I was around but a little young to vote. I remember the debates, the media coverage, how Reagan was unelectable, problems with oil, global warming propaganda, and the hostage/Iran crisis that had been dragging on and on. Who ever said history doesn't really repeat itself?

Sure, Trump may be a part of the dog n pony show but before him no one on either side of the isle was talking about Immigration or Trade. They were stuck talking about fetuses and gay marriage.

On immigration? It comes up every four years like clockwork, since there's an emotional component and it's easy to (theoretically) contrast the two parties. With or without Trump, that was going to be an issue in the general.

Trade comes up every four years as well, but it's a loser issue. Random_citizen_01 doesn't understand the nuance of such a complicated issue. It's certainly not as exciting as talking about the brown people sneaking into the country, stealing our jobs and raping our daughters.

Trump's greatest trick was convincing a subset of the Republican base that he was an outsider, and that his constant lying was actually brutal honesty.
