I use fullscreen all the time. You just have to place the options window in a certain spot for it to work. Basically you're aiming to place it in the center of the screen, but not the windowed center, what would be the fullscreen center. Takes a few tries.

Fullscreen at 1920x1080 causes a crash for me, windowed works fine.

that's how I play on my TV, chatfontsize 5 though cause I can't read a thing otherwise.

I once heard that it wont (with any stability) do a resolution that your current desktop aspect ratio is not set to. This could be speculation but I get fullscreen crashes 99% of the time so it may as well be right.
